Individual Therapy
As we go through life, most of us experience various challenges, stresses and pains. We do not have to face these difficulties alone. It is normal and healthy to seek guidance. Talking with a trained counsellor can help explore the problem and find ways of coping in order to move forward. Engaging in counselling is a powerful way to make sense of your difficulties, help alleviate angst and build upon your existing strengths.
Working one-to-one, I offer a welcoming, confidential and non-judgemental space to talk and be heard. You will be valued and given the time to autonomously explore what you need and want to achieve through counselling. We can decide on a set number of sessions to start off with, or keep it open-ended.
I offer face-to-face sessions predominantly from a lovely private room in Turo city-centre, but can also try to accommodate a client in a room closer to you, if travelling is an issue. I also offer online and telephone sessions, for remote clients.
‘Walk and Talk’ Nature Therapy
“I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees” ~ Henry David Thoreau
There is growing evidence that spending time in nature is effective at improving our mood, mental wellbeing and supporting healing and wellness. In conjunction with a talking therapy, the benefits increase and often the natural environment encourages a free, unrestricted narrative in the client. We can arrange a timed ‘walk and talk’ session outdoors, walking in a forest, along a coastal path or even in a local park. I work to the same ethical framework as in my one-to-one and couple sessions, honouring confidentiality and non-judgemental listening.
Couples / Relationship Therapy
As in individual therapy, sessions take place in a safe space and aim to improve communication and resolve issues within an intimate relationship. Both partners attend sessions together. Couple counselling can help partners rediscover that closeness and intimacy which originally brought them together.
I help facilitate change and bring about a resolution by helping you both communicate more effectively and reach your own conclusions. My role is to listen non-judgementally and reflect back to you. Very often, when a couple is ‘stuck’ or having difficulties, talking to someone objectively, with no connection to either of you, assists in gaining perspective and finding a positive way forward.
If you believe sessions with me would be beneficial, I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation or 30 minute meeting over coffee, giving us a chance to discuss what you would like from therapy.
